From Drinking Pee to Tech Monitors?
In ancient times, the basic process
to know the amount of sugar present in our bodies consisted in having
someone DRINK our urine and guess the level by tasting it… If the urine had a sweet flavour then as
you would imagine, your sugars level were on the roof.
Instead of having a "Urine Taste Expert", modern technology introduced some innovative glucose monitors that give us all the information pertaining the
level of sugar in our blood. How does this work?

Interpret the information on the Glucose Meter

The glucose
in the blood reacts with the strip since it contains an enzyme called “glucose
oxidase”. This creates a current that the glucose meter will traduce in a number that reflects the amount of sugar present in our blood.
Thanks to innovating technology, recently the company IQ Global Group created a printed strip
that works with the same principle as the blood strip. The difference is that
this new strip ha to be placed on the tongue and the enzyme in the strip reacts with the
saliva; but instead of having a specific Glucose Meter… you can use your
smart devices! Through this method, you can keep track and compare your glucose levels on a weekly basis by simply downloading an app on your phones!! The strips are
printed with new technology and sold singularly, therefore they are cheaper!
